Lake Wales Main Street Progress Report
May 14, 2010 – June 11, 2010

Created a 2010 – 2011 Main Street Budget which was approved by the Main Street board via email. The budget and cover letter were submitted it to City Manager Judy Delmar on May 28th.

New Member: Main Street donated a historic photo and a one year membership to the Chamber’s Citizen of the Year silent auction. The new Main Street member is William Moure.

Economic Restructuring met May 25th with new Chamber/Main Street committee. The committee also attended the City/Chamber/Main Street Economic Development Partnership meeting.

oKiosk Directory and Header were put on free-standing, permanent metal support and installed by Action Signs. It finally looks professional!

Scenic Highway November 6 Event: Treasure Hunt on the Scenic Buyway
oManager met with Scenic Highway committee.

Attended a meeting about Lego Land with representatives from East Polk Communities; cities, chambers, Main Streets and county. The impact of Lego Land and how communities along Hwy 27 can benefit were discussed.

New Office
oWayne Privett removed an antique door from an unused office in the building and framed and hung it in the office. He also installed trim on the back wall.
oRuss Moore, Jan & Wayne Privett and Gary Wallace installed ceiling tiles.
oNew carpet installed
oBegan organizing the office and arranged furniture
oCreated a sign and applied for sign permit for the new office door.
