Main Street Management

• Manager wrote an article for the Main Street News.
  

• Posted Main Street article, “Top 27 Things to do in Historic Downtown Lake Wales” on the web site.
  

• Posted the Martin Vargis Downtown Lake Wales Master Plan on the web site.
  

• Created a new Main Street Matters flyer to deliver to businesses next week.
  

• Created a header for the east side of the Kiosk.
  

• Met with Ann McLeod and Lisa Pedersen at the JD Alexander PCC campus to measure all the walls for historic photos.
  

• Scanned and restored 6 additional pictures for the Historic Photo Fundraiser.
  

• Had meetings with Lisa Pedersen, Ann Mcleod, Mimi Hardman and Action Signs to finalize the PCC project.
  

• Designed a Kiosk header with more about Main Street and a listing of all members.
  

• Contacts have been made with dancers for the Lake Wales World Dance Bazaar. Manager is researching the viability of a dance competition.
  

• Met with Dr. Kelly Wolfe, professor at Webber, about a downtown market survey. She proposed to have a team of students do the study for their MBA practicum. Several other Webber connections with downtown were discussed, including interns attending committee meetings.
  

• Spoke to the faculty of Webber about using Lake Wales as an outdoor classroom and having students or faculty volunteer on our committees.
  

• Recruited a new member, Empower Solutions LLC.
  

Promotions

• Collected, scanned and restored 8 more historic photos for the Main Street fundraiser and delivered to Action Signs for printing. Action will add $20 per photo for Main Street.
  

• Took down the Marketplace Christmas decorations and delivered them to Cliff’s hardware for storage.
  

• Filmed an interview with Dwight Bachelder for a new promotional video.
  

Meetings

• Held Board of Directors meeting on December 12th.
  

• Held Promotions Committee meeting on December 17th.
  

• Held Economic Restructuring Committee on December 22nd.
  

• Held Design Committee meeting on January 7th. Margaret Swanson, Lake Wales Planning Department director was the guest speaker.
  

• Attended Chamber Tourism Committee meeting at Bok Tower December 7th.
